As Dusk falls we rest in the Meadows

Today we are sunsetting Dusk and publishing our new theme: Meadows.

The motto for this theme is simple: the grass is greener where you water it. We’ve been watering this patch for so long that it has spread across the entire field to become a meadow. I won't give an exact timeline, but to put the duration of this project into perspective: it is a year older than my nephew, and he can talk.

This project has survived its own version of development hell and spanned truly nightmare scenarios, 28 separate people were directly involved with the development of this theme at some point in its life cycle. Now that we're staging the theme to finally go live, I almost can't believe we’ve actually made it here.

If you’ve ever posted feedback about LTTStore on a public forum no matter how small, I kept a note of it. As you click around, I hope you’ll see how your feedback directly contributed to Meadows.

Previous themes were always iterative; new features were brought to MVP and slapped together in a patchwork. Meadows introduces a different approach: a slower, methodical, and considered focus on ensuring features exceed your expectations. We stepped back and addressed core flaws in our theme and have architected a theme to support everything and more from the start. Everything has been improved to provide a world-class experience.

We look back on Dusk fondly. It held its own through the creation of many features, from COMS (formerly Merch Messages), to crazy April Fool’s takeovers and site-wide scavenger hunts. Dusk was an extensible base, but its tech stack became deprecated long ago. Meadows represents a clean slate a fresh start with broader capability.

In software development, there is a scary reality that your life's work might go unseen. There is an even scarier reality when you know that millions of discerning individuals will witness everything you do, dissecting every minor change and loudly sharing their feedback.

Speaking of which if you’d like to give feedback you can do so with the following form: https://forms.gle/XPqi2QKotidR8sf56

Thank you for everything, your enthusiasm for what we've made has been the driving force behind it all.

As dusk falls we rest in the meadow,
where the familiar shadows finally settle.
A canvas of green for the journey ahead,
built upon the silence of what we left behind.
The old light does not follow us here.
